German Shorthaired or English Pointer?

Looking at Oliver the more I think about the more I'm convinced she is an English Pointer.  She may be a GSP mixed with an English Pointer, but if so, the English side is definitely dominate.

GSPs can be white factors just as Big Foot was, however, Olive has that little something extra that makes her special.

Comparing these two it's easy to see that Olive probably would rather take afternoon tea than attend Oktoberfest.

Either way she's still a pointer in the end, and boy does she point!  She even pointed at my neighbors sitting outside one evening.  Olive is a funny dog and boy does she love to play.  Her and Sadie don't mind they're different and have no problem playing all day even in the 100 degree weather.

German or English, you decide.

Why won't Sadie play with me in the house?

Olive is one playful pup! She tried to get Sadie to play in the house but she wasn't so sure.  Maybe because Sadie knows better.  Not too much roughhousing ladies. Save it for outside.  Olive's one funny pup and what a cutie too!

Meet Olive!

     Olive

Olive came to me as a stray found in the Mount Olive area.  She is a very sweet girl with a puppy personality.  She is tiny and I put her around a year old.  Olive is only about 35-40 lbs and does fine in the bath and doesn't mind being held.

She is excellent about her crate.  She doesn't complain and goes right in.  She is learning everyday and right now she is learning sit, how to walk on a leash and tying up loose ends as far as house breaking goes.  She's about 90% there and has only had two accidents in the full week she's been here.  Not too bad.

Olive is very playful and gets along with other dogs.  At the kennel she didn't mind being around cats.  She is up to date with her vetting and is waiting for a forever home.  She really is a sweet dog and with a little structure and time she will be a great family pet.  She does have a lot of ENERGY.  Anyone looking for a lazy dog look elsewhere.  Olive loves to play and run around.  She's a smart little thing and with some training she'll be great.

She is a very happy pup.  We believe she is a GSP mix, possibly with an English Pointer.  She's always wagging her tail and ready to play.

Waggin' Along

Polly is a GSP with an undocked tail.  A docked tail for a GSP is cut to
40% of the original length a few days after birth. This is to prevent injury if the dog hunts or runs in underbrush later in life.

Growing up I only had dogs with docked tails and never got to experience a full one.  I have to say, her long tail adds to her cute personality.  Often I will hear random knocking noises to find that it's Polly's tail hitting against walls or sweeping across the floor.  Enjoy a video of this sweet pup and her waggin' tail.
